We just returned from the best birthday weekend at Monarch Beach Resort in California. The resort was absolute heaven and the cooler weather was a much needed respite from the hot Texas heat. A weekend getaway with girlfriends paired with the California weather was the perfect excuse to break out our much anticipated transitional pieces for fall. See the breakdown of everything we packed below!
JEANS + SKIRTS
We packed our go-to “Looker” skinnies by Mother for daytime wear and a pair of dark wash black skinnies by a new favorite brand of ours, AGOLDE. Lastly, we included a pair of pale pink toothpick skinny jeans (currently on sale) to pair with a lightweight sweater for casual evenings. For the night that we dressed up for we paired a silk cami with a pleated midi skirt which is one of our favorite easy looks.
Our key to packing for any getaway is to incorporate elevated basics so they can be worn several ways in order to save room. Our evening wardrobe consisted of silk camis and daytime was all about casual button downs or a crisp white t-shirt to layer with.
We like to keep it simple when it comes to shoes on vacation, mainly for suitcase space. We always throw in our Golden Goose sneakers for daytime and for nighttime we included our favorite Gucci sandals. Although they are pricey, we have definitely gotten our return on investment with the Marmont sandals, not only do they go with just about everything, they are comfortable as well.
